About The Position

Provides scheduled, health related services to residents in Brewster Health Center. The nurse is also the primary responder for residents who call in an emergency situation and provides assistance, intervention, and assessment.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree
• 1-2 years preferred
• Current Kansas RN license or Current LPN license

• IV Certified (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provides planned clinical services (administer medications, treatments and other services prescribed by physician) and reports unusual findings to the physician
• Responds to clinical emergencies, provide first aid and triage and supervise transfers acute care provider.
• Admits and discharges residents as needed in the Brewster Health Center/Beck Rehab Center.
• Provides first responder services in emergency situations involving all BHC residents.
• Incorporate principles and standards of CQI by participating in problem identification and solution focused task forces.
• Completes detailed records on all residents who receive services.
• Monitors and ensures that clinical services are provided and documented fully and accurately according to physician orders, care plans, established standards and Brewster’s mission and policies.
• Record care data on electronic health record (EHR) for each elder at the time of service.
• Administers medications, treatments, and services as prescribed by physician's orders and reports any unusual findings of the resident's condition.
