About The Position

Come enjoy the lake life at our beautiful Mercyhealth Walworth Campus in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. We are actively looking for Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team. Mohs surgery is a procedure used to treat skin cancer. This surgery involves cutting away thin layers of skin. Each thin layer is looked at closely for signs of cancer. The process keeps going until there are no signs of cancer. Mohs surgery is used to treat skin cancer. This includes common types of skin cancer, such as basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. It also includes melanoma and other less-common skin cancers.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.
  • May require specific years of applicable experience to qualify (per department guidelines)
  • Approved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days
  • Other certification(s) per unit requirements. For example : ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRP

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and treatment rooms for dermatologic procedures.
  • Assist the physician with medical procedures, including: Skin biopsies Excisions Cryotherapy Intralesional and cosmetic injections
  • Administer injections as directed by the physician (e.g., local anesthesia, intralesional, or cosmetic injectables).
  • Apply and remove dressings, sutures, and wound care materials.
  • Document procedures, treatments, and patient interactions accurately in the medical record.
  • Perform or assist with cosmetic treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling, and light-based therapies.
  • Operate and maintain laser and energy-based devices (training provided).
  • Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care and answer questions about cosmetic treatments.
  • Greet and prepare patients for evaluation and procedures.
  • Obtain and document medical histories and treatment consents.
  • Provide patient education on diagnoses, medications, and home care instructions.
  • Support the provider in maintaining a high standard of safety and patient satisfaction.
