About The Position

We are seeking an exceptional Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our concierge-style primary care practice. This role is ideal for a confident, detail-oriented, and highly motivated nurse who thrives in a high-touch, service-driven environment and understands the importance of discretion, professionalism, and personalized care for a distinguished clientele. Our practice delivers a white-glove healthcare experience, and personality, presence, and communication skills are just as important as clinical expertise. MUSC MDVIP is located in Downtown Charleston and is an annual subscription program connecting patients with a doctor specializing in primary care. The physician and support team will focus on preventive medical care and create wellness plans customized to patients' unique needs while enhancing the patient experience by providing a high level of customer service. This dedicated partnership between patients and their physician includes convenient and immediate attention through same-day or next-day appointments, customized wellness plans, personalized care, direct access to physician and referral management to specialty care.

Requirements

Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred unless current MUSC employee.
RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date.
Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking patient vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams.
Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.
Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors.
Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions.
Stamina and resilience to handle the physical and emotional demands of providing patient care, including long shifts and potentially stressful situations.
Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility.
Compliance with infection control protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Responsibilities

Providing quality patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical practice.
Rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections, facilitating referrals, phlebotomy and assisting with minor procedures.
Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation).
Directs and leads other assigned team members and collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice.
Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes providing for the assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC.
Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior.
Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model. This includes participating in shared governance, adherence to standards of care, participation in peer review and professional development promoting leadership and clinical excellence, effective team skills, autonomous practice and acknowledgment of accountability for actions and critical thinking.
