Requirements

1 year experience in OR
Associate Degree in Nursing or equivalent
Arizona Registered Nurse License or a Registered Nurse License from a Compact State
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification- an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training site, American Safety & Health Institute, or Red Cross BLS certification is required upon hire and renewal every two years
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification-Employees will have thirty (30) days from the date of hire to acquire American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification and will need to be renewed every two years

Responsibilities

Care for patients with Arterial Catheters
Care for patients with chest tubes
Provide appropriate care of Electrosurgery in Perioperative patients
Adhere to AORN Standards for Providing Patient Care in Perioperative Services
Promote prevention of surgical skin infections
Appropriately apply oxygen therapy to patients
Position patients appropriately during surgery; understanding of HAPI prevention
Perform Preoperative Assessment
Maintain Radiation Safety
Appropriately perform Surgical Safety Checklist
Perform Hand Hygiene Surgical Scrub
Perform Surgical Time Out
Understand how to prevent Postoperative Complications
Use appropriate interventions to prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis in Patients
Perform blood transfusions
