Summary of position: Under minimum supervision, assists the Director of Surgical Services with planning, organizing, delivering, and coordinating patient care. Professional circulating RN-OR for surgery patients in accordance with the surgical and nursing plans of care and established policies and procedures. Uses principles of aseptic technique to establish and maintain a sterile field. Checks updated schedule each morning and prepare supplies and equipment. Reinforces and clarifies physician instructions and explanation of procedures to patient. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN. Performs the role of a scrub nurse if needed; floats to other areas within Surgical Services if needed. Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
  • Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
  • ACLS and PALS required (or must be obtained by end of orientation)
