With 4 operating rooms and 3 treatment rooms, our center is equipped with advanced technology to deliver precise and efficient surgical care. Our skilled surgical teams perform procedures in a wide range of specialties, including: Gastroenterology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Podiatry, Urology, ENT. The Operating Room RN will assess, plans, implement, and evaluate care of patients in operating room. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Hospital. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by OR Director, or Board Runner, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Current RN unrestricted VA license
  • BLS Required
  • ACLS
  • Recent experience in the operating room or perioperative nursing.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile field maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical situations.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plans, implement, and evaluate care of patients in operating room.
  • Provide care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Hospital.
  • Make decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicate appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members.
  • Serve on committees (as designated by OR Director, or Board Runner).
  • Participate in quality improvement audits and projects (as designated by OR Director, or Board Runner).
