Requirements
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.; BSN preferred. Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
- One year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care to patients in the operating room setting
- Assist in preparing the operating room for surgical procedures
- Ensure proper functioning and availability of surgical equipment and supplies
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition during surgery
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols
- Participate in patient education and discharge planning
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
- Stay current with advances in surgical techniques and perioperative nursing practices
