Located in Baltimore's cultural center near the historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, UMMC Midtown Campus is a 180-bed, community teaching hospital with a focus on helping people manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary conditions, and infectious diseases.

Requirements

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing, is required.; BSN preferred. Up-to-date status on all mandatory training and classes.
One year nursing experience. Solid knowledge and clinical skills.
Current CPR certification required.
Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.

Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in the operating room, ensuring patient safety and comfort
Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during surgical procedures
Prepare and maintain a sterile environment for surgeries
Monitor patients' vital signs and respond to any changes or emergencies
Coordinate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient OR operations
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Participate in patient and family education regarding pre- and post-operative care
Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Contribute to a supportive and collaborative work environment
Engage in ongoing professional development and education to stay current with best practices in perioperative nursing
