About the Position: Position: Operating Room Registered Nurse Employment type: .6-.8 FTE (48-64 hours per pay period) Work Schedule: Days Department: Surgical Services Internal Posting Through: 11/21/2025 Here's what you'll do when you join us: The Operating Room RN will be a part of a professional care team that delivers perioperative care to the surgical/endoscopic patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Collects patient health data that are relevant to the operative or invasive procedure, analyzes the data to determine nursing diagnosis and identifies expected outcomes that are unique to the patient. Develops and implements an individualized plan of care to attain expected outcomes and evaluates the patient's progress toward attaining outcomes. Systematically evaluates the quality and appropriateness of nursing practice. Communicates professionally and effectively with patients, families, co-workers, healthcare team members, and ancillary departments to ensure "Patient Centered" coordination of care. Acquires and maintains specialized knowledge and skills in nursing practice and evaluates his or her practice in context with current professional practice standards, rules and regulations. Maintains a working knowledge of the AORN and Joint Commission standards. Assigned call for weeknights, holidays, and weekends in an equal rotation with other OR nurses. Interacts with and contributes to the professional growth of peers and colleagues. Participates in performance improvement activities in the unit and organization. Incorporates research findings into practice. Provides leadership in the profession and professional practice setting. Collaborates with and delegates to ancillary/professional staff as appropriate; assures adherence to their scope of practice, considering licensure and/or certification Collaborates with the patient and designated support person(s) when practicing professional nursing.
