About The Position

The Perioperative Registered Nurse (RN) provides nursing care to surgical patients utilizing the nursing process and the standards of care of a professional nurse. The RN is expected to perform all staff nurse activities and functions as charge nurse when assigned. The RN maintains overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients, even though some activities/tasks may be delegated to Surgical Technologists, Patient Care Associates, Guest Associates, and Anesthesia Technologists.

Requirements

  • Associates' degree from an accredited school of nursing.
  • New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position.
  • Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida.
  • BLS from the American Heart Association is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year critical care (ICU/ED) experience for PACU Nurses.
  • 1-2 years of related OR experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Specialty Certification.
  • Professional Specialty Certification.
  • 2+ years of relevant perioperative nursing experience.

Responsibilities
