Lahey Hospital & Medical Center's Peabody campus is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN to join our dynamic Perioperative team. Peabody Medical Center features a state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery and Medical Center with 5 Operating Rooms. We're looking for a skilled nurse with 2+ years of OR experience who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts/week 7:00am- 5:30pm Call requirement.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a state approved and/or accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current license to practice professional nursing from the Massachusetts Board of Registration.
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • A minimum of 1 year of Operating Room Nurse experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe patient care by demonstrating organizational skills that maintain and coordinate safe delivery of quality care for assigned patients/families.
  • Develop a culturally competent plan of care that identifies patient problems, expected outcomes, and addresses preventative measures.
  • Perform systematic patient and family assessment relevant to practice settings.
  • Deliver care that is specific to the age of the patient.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of care and adapt plan based on patient/family response.
  • Establish professional relationships with nurses, physicians, and other colleagues and patients and families.
  • Educate the patient and family about the patient's illness and treatment including preventative measures appropriate to the patient.
  • Support Lahey Clinics commitment to community-based activities both within the Lahey community and beyond.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior by adhering to unit policies and procedures, practice guidelines specific to the setting and the ANA Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrate skills as a responsive team member.
  • Demonstrate role of nurse as teacher.
  • Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in and successfully complete Mandatory Education.
