Baptist MD Anderson is seeking a dedicated Oncology Quality Specialist to join our team at our BMDA Downtown Campus. This is an on-site position, working Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. As Registered Nurse supports patient safety and quality improvement efforts across the oncology continuum of care. As a key contributor, you'll ensure ongoing compliance with national accreditation standards and actively partner with multidisciplinary teams to maintain the highest levels of patient care and safety. Requirements

  • 3-5 Years Clinical Nursing Experience Required
  • Less than 1 year Healthcare Quality Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required
  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

Nice To Haves

  • Oncology Nursing Experience is preferred
  • Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) Preferred
  • Certified Professional Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree - Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Supporting patient safety initiatives and quality improvement across the oncology continuum of care.
  • Ensuring compliance with accreditation standards including CoC, NAPBC, NAPRC, APEX, and FACT.
  • Collaborating with the Cancer Center Quality and Safety Officer to conduct real-time incident tracking, lead safety huddles, and contribute to root cause analyses.
  • Driving performance improvement through the monitoring of key hospital-based outcome metrics such as infection rates, readmissions, and treatment-related complications.
  • Validating and submitting quality metrics in alignment with MD Anderson Cancer Center standards, with expected growth in reporting scope.
  • Supporting transplant and cellular therapy programs by ensuring adherence to FACT standards related to documentation, consent, product handling, and toxicity monitoring.
  • Engaging in system-level safety and compliance initiatives in partnership with Risk Management, Infection Prevention, and Accreditation teams.
  • Contributing to accreditation survey readiness, staff education, and reduction of care variability.
  • Participating in ongoing quality education using the NAHQ's 8 Domains of Competency.
