Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology A2 (Per Diem)

A2 is a vibrant 29-bed unit staffed by a dedicated team of nursing and healthcare professionals. They provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including medical-surgical, inpatient oncology, and hematology patients. Nurses on A2 are highly skilled and work collaboratively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to offer holistic, patient- and family-centered care. The unit emphasizes empathy, innovation, and clinical excellence, blending advanced technology with a personal touch to create a supportive and fulfilling workplace for healthcare professionals dedicated to making a difference.
Requirements
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- One year RN experience
- Current unrestricted State of CT Registered Nurse license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications
- Basic knowledge of Nursing principles and practices
- Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions
- Communicates effectively in order to provide technical or complex information as well as instruction
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians, managers and patients
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, be flexible and a team player
- Ability to work in a stressful environment
- Commitment to customer service
- Basic computer knowledge in order to enter/retrieve data
- Requires high level of analytical ability in order to gather and interpret information from various sources
- Able to take the appropriate action in response to changes, circumstances, problems and/or emergency situations
- Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and Oncology Nurse (ONC) certification preferred
