About The Position

Baystate Health, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare quality and safety, is looking for an inpatient Registered Nurse to join our Outpatient Observation Unit at Baystate Medical Center (BMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence. Our patient population consists of outpatient/observation patients admitted from the Emergency Department for short stays of 24 hours or less, caring for a variety of diagnoses including chest pain, asthma, syncope, anemia, back pain, DVT, heart failure, and many others.

Requirements

• Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
• ADN required; BSN preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in an outpatient or observation unit setting.
• Certification in relevant nursing specialties.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to outpatient/observation patients admitted from the Emergency Department.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions and report changes to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions and care plans.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
