About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Observation Unit at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. This role utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families. The nurse effectively communicates pertinent patient and family information to the healthcare team and participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals, ensuring the implementation of those solutions. The position is for 36 hours per week on a 12-hour midnight shift, specifically from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with an alternating weekend schedule. The Observation Unit consists of 20 beds and focuses on observation-level patients, particularly those with cardiac conditions, while excluding stroke patients, pediatrics, and certain infection control patients related to community bathrooms.
