About The Position

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) assists in coordinating mother-baby patient care and education. A registered professional nurse who is responsible for utilization of the nursing process which consists of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care for a patient or group of patients and is responsible for the provision of clinical leadership for other staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing required
  • Current BLS required.
  • ACLS, NRP, STABLE and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring certification as soon as available after hire.
  • Acute and Post Partum unit check off required after hire.
  • At least one (1) year of acute clinical experience preferred.
  • Responsible to understand and capable of implementing duties with the scope of rules and regulations of the Oregon State Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide leadership within complex and rapidly changing clinical environment.
  • Function calmly and effectively in emergent situations peak work times.
  • Demonstrate positive and compassionate attitude toward patients and their families.
  • Prioritize patient care and unit needs appropriately.
  • Functions as a positive team member with other hospital staff and physicians.
  • Recognize and differentiate normal and abnormal patient assessments and conditions.
  • Provide effective education for patients, nursing staff members and students.
  • Maintain patient confidentially.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with co-workers, physicians and management staff.

  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
