About The Position

The Registered Nurse position in Nursing Specialty at the West Haven, CT campus is a full-time role responsible for providing evidence-based specialty care to patients. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a U.S. State or territory.
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNE.
  • Proficiency in basic written and spoken English is mandatory.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical examination and background investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Outpatient specialty nursing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of ortho, general surgery, peripheral vascular disease, renal, colo-rectal, and hematology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide competent, evidence-based specialty care to assigned patients.
  • Oversee licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants as appropriate.
  • Coordinate patient care and promote health education and wellness.
  • Assist in directing nursing education, orientation, and competencies.
  • Evaluate practice based on best evidence and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment for healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary team discussions and effect change for optimal outcomes.
  • Participate in activities to sustain an evidence-based practice culture.
