About The Position

The Registered Nurse/Nurse Resident in the Neuro Stroke Unit at Henry Ford Macomb Hospital provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. The role involves utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document care and teaching of patients and their families. Effective communication of pertinent patient/family information to the healthcare team is essential. The nurse will participate in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensure the implementation of those solutions. The unit specializes in neuro patients, including those with stroke/stroke-like symptoms, seizures, brain bleeds, and other neuro-type diagnoses, as well as a small number of cardiac patients. All RNs are required to be ACLS and NIH certified.

Requirements

• BSN preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
• Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
• Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
• ACLS certification within 1 year of hire.
• NIHHS certification within 1 week of hire.
