About The Position

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Provide comprehensive nursing care for neonates with complex medical needs, including prematurity, respiratory distress, and congenital anomalies, utilizing advanced technology such as conventional mechanical ventilation and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). Serve as a critical member of the High-Risk Delivery and Neonatal Code teams, executing rapid assessment and life-saving interventions according to Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) guidelines during traumatic or emergency deliveries. Manage and monitor specialized neonatal access, including Umbilical Artery Catheters (UAC), Umbilical Venous Catheters (UVC), and PICC lines, while meticulously calculating and administering TPN, IV fluids, and weight-based medications. Act as a primary liaison for families in crisis, providing compassionate education on neonatal development, breastfeeding support, and specialized home-care equipment to ensure a safe transition from the NICU to the home environment.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification specializing in The S.T.A.B.L.E Program preferred.
  • Certification specializing in Neonatal Resuscitation credentialed from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) preferred.
