About The Position

Hours: 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m., every 3rd weekend, every other Holiday Our Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) has 10 beds and provides advanced, specialized support for newborns who need additional monitoring or intermediate‑level care, allowing families to remain together within the same unit. Together, these features reflect our commitment to safety, compassion, and high‑quality maternal and newborn care. JOB SUMMARY This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care with the multidisciplinary team while using the nursing process and maintaining professional nursing standards. NICU Nurse is specifically responsible for the care of the well and ill newborn who may require neonatal intensive care services. Birth Center and Pediatrics are considered "sister" units and staff are expected to float between these units. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa or recent RN graduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred Experience Previous experience in well or ill newborn, and/or obstetric care and/or acute care preferred. Special Skills and Competencies: Preferred certification in low risk neonatal nursing care / professional certification in related to clinical specialty (from the Magnet approved certification s) Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs. Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision. Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa or recent RN graduate
  • Previous experience in well or ill newborn, and/or obstetric care and/or acute care preferred.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at one time and flexibility to meet department needs.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented individual able to work with minimum supervision.
