About The Position
We are seeking a Neonatal Intensive Care Registered Nurse , sometimes referred to as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, Neonatal Nurse or a NICU RN. The NICU RN provides specialized nursing care to critically ill or premature newborns who require intensive medical attention in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) . NICU RN’s work closely with other healthcare professionals to support the complex needs of fragile infants. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed . Requirements
- Current and valid state RN License.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- NRP (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
- One year experience in an acute care setting with experience in nursery or NICU environment.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess newborns’ vital signs, neurological status, and overall condition while documenting observations accurately
- Administer medications, intravenous fluids, and specialized treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Operate and manage advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, incubators, and feeding tubes to support infant care
- Provide respiratory support and assist with resuscitation when necessary, ensuring a sterile and safe environment
- Educate and support families regarding their infant’s condition, care plan, and progress while collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans
