Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for our NICU/Hybrid unit in King of Prussia. This part-time position involves working in a 28-bed unit, where all beds are licensed as critical care. Initially, 18 beds will be dedicated to infants requiring Level III NICU care, with the remaining 10 beds to be allocated based on demand for inpatient services. The role of the Clinical Nurse is to provide advanced nursing care, demonstrating competence in managing patients with complex needs and high acuity. The nurse will adhere to the CHOP Nursing Professional Practice Model, ensuring that care is age and developmentally appropriate, and delivered through a family-centered approach. The Clinical Nurse will follow the nursing process to deliver safe, compassionate, and culturally effective care. This includes gathering and synthesizing assessment data to develop and implement patient care plans, collaborating with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring that care is coordinated across the continuum. The nurse will also be responsible for recognizing clinical changes indicative of patient deterioration and utilizing resources effectively to address these changes. Documentation of care provided and adherence to evidence-based practices are essential components of this role. In addition to clinical practice, the Registered Nurse will engage in effective communication with patients, families, and colleagues, utilizing both verbal and nonverbal techniques to foster understanding and empathy. The nurse will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to the development of care plans, and maintain professional relationships with patients and families. Professional development is also a key aspect of this position, with opportunities to expand clinical judgment, participate in shared governance, and engage in quality improvement initiatives.
