About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Critical Care Unit (NICCU) at Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is responsible for conducting patient assessments, developing care plans, and implementing and evaluating care tailored to the specific needs of neonates. This role involves collaboration with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery in a high-acuity environment, specifically within a level IV NICCU that serves as an international referral center for complex neonatal conditions.

Requirements

  • 1+ years' experience as a Level III NICCU RN; Level IV NICCU experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of patient care principles and equipment.
  • Ability to assess effectiveness of patient care.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of California.
  • Current American Heart Association CPR, PALS, and NRP certifications.
  • ADN or BSN required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Implement and evaluate care according to patient-specific age and developmental needs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members in the delivery of care.
  • Follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor and assist in crises and emergencies.
  • Prioritize tasks for complex patient care.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
