The Nursing Graduate works under the direct line-of-sight supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinical setting, participating in the patient care delivery process and orienting to RN assignments, excluding independent nursing care. This position may involve medication administration under the direction and supervision of a licensed RN. The Nursing Graduate role is for up to 12 weeks while employees are in the Intermountain Nurse Residency program, preparing for and passing the State Boards examination to obtain an RN license. If the Nursing Graduate fails the State Board exam a second time or exceeds the 12-week period, they can no longer remain in this role and must apply for other qualified open jobs or face termination. Registered Nurse graduates must be enrolled in and have started coursework for the Intermountain Nurse Residency program before providing direct patient care, even under supervision.
