Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain an RN license in the practicing state
  • Association accredited course in Basic Life Support (BLS) (for clinical staff), or Heartsaver CPR AED (for nonclinical staff), and renewal on a regular basis, with up to a three-month grace period after the expiration date.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in basic computer and medical record-keeping software.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to varied healthcare environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • This position is designed for new graduates; prior clinical experience may include internships or clinical rotations during nursing education.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing the NCLEX within 6 months of the hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a formal orientation program, including designated hours for hands-on training and simulation sessions.
  • Deliver patient care under the supervision of experienced nurses while adhering to established protocols and procedures.
  • Engage in simulation training to develop and refine clinical and decision-making skills in a controlled environment.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary healthcare team to create and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor and record patients' vital signs and report any significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Educate patients and families on health conditions, post-treatment care, and preventive strategies.
  • Assist with procedures and the management of medical equipment as required.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
  • Reflect on practice and receive feedback from mentors and preceptors to enhance professional growth.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and other educational opportunities to continue professional development.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards of nursing practice.
  • Respond to patient requests and concerns with empathy, providing a high level of customer service.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care delivery.
  • Develop leadership and teamwork skills while gaining exposure to different nursing roles and specialties.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
