About The Position

Mercy Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a Neurosurgery role. The primary function of this position is to deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, which includes data collection and assessment, identifying and prioritizing patient problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The RN will also coordinate, provide, and direct patient teaching activities, and coordinate care provided by other health team members. Requirements

  • Knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and future innovations
  • Nursing judgment and skill based on principles of the biological, physical, behavioral, and social sciences
  • Application of the nursing process in patient care delivery
  • Coordination of patient care delivery

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team, conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyze assessment data, create a plan of care, implement treatment and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
  • Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures.
  • Serve as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
  • Act as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
  • Incorporate the professional practice model into care delivery.
