Registered Nurse-Neuro ICU
About The Position
The Registered RN is a professional care-giver who, as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and who supervises and provides care to these patients utilizing the nursing process including the therapeutic use of self. Follows established policies and procedures. Communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. Provides excellent customer service interfacing well with all levels of staff, management and physicians. Applies Cooper core values. Other duties as required. Cooper’s Neuroscience Unit is a 16-bed ICU paired with a state-of-the-art Neuro Interventional Suite, that together form an integral part of Cooper Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our nurses provide expert neurological care in both settings to ensure seamless continuity of care for our patients across a wide range of neurological diagnoses. With the most advanced technology and providers, Cooper expands its capabilities to care for neurological patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The healthcare professionals take tremendous pride in teamwork and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, we provide outreach to bring stroke and neurological education to improve community health.
Requirements
- Graduate of NLN-accredited School of Nursing
- Current NJ-RN License (Registered Nurse)
- Current American Heart Association BLS Certification (Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers)
- Certain specialties may require advanced certification (i.e. ACLS, NALS, PALS)
Nice To Haves
- A minimum of one year or more of acute care RN experience in an inpatient setting is strongly preferred.
