About The Position

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced intensive care (ICU) nurse to join their new Neurosciences Critical Care Unit team. The role involves delivering state-of-the-art Neurocritical Care, working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide clinical excellence in patient-centered care. Nurses are empowered through evidence-based practice, continuing education, collaboration, and shared governance to deliver nursing care with empathy and kindness. The Neurosciences Critical Care Unit (NCCU) is the newest unit at LHMC, comprising 9 Intensive Care and 9 Progressive Care beds. Lahey Hospital & Medical Center holds a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation and is expanding its Neurosciences Critical Care. The NCCU is an acute intensive care unit specializing in the care of acutely ill patients with life-threatening neurologic disease or neurological manifestations of a systemic disease. Nursing staff utilize the latest technologies to care for patients requiring ventilatory support, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP monitoring, targeted temperature management, osmotic therapy, and continuous renal replacement therapy, while also providing support and comfort to patient families.

Requirements

  • BSN required
  • At least 1 year of previous of Nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute setting required
  • Current Massachusetts registered Nurse license required
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills

Nice To Haves

  • Neurosciences or ICU exprerince preferred
  • Telemetry experience preferred

Responsibilities
