About The Position

The Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) at TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital is a state-of-the-art critical care environment specializing in complex and high-acuity patient care. The Unit is split into 14 beds for PCU and 28 beds for ICU. Our MSICU is integral to our Level III Trauma Program and Comprehensive Stroke Program, providing cutting-edge treatments for trauma and stroke patients. We offer a range of advanced critical care services, including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) for patients requiring extended dialysis and soon will offer care for patients with Left Ventricular Assist Devices (LVAD). Additionally, we utilize Ultrasound-Guided Peripheral Intravenous (USGPIV) techniques for optimal patient care and comfort. Our unit is committed to the professional growth of our nurses, offering a Critical Care Nurse Development Program, designed to provide continuous education and hands-on experience for those looking to advance their expertise in the critical care field. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, technology, and education, the MSICU PCU at Bethesda North Hospital provides exceptional care for critically ill patients in a dynamic and supportive environment Why You’ll Love This Role High‑acuity critical care experience in a modern ICU/PCU environment (28 ICU beds + 14 PCU beds). Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • BLS/CPR (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers).
  • New hires must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire.
  • Strong clinical judgment and nursing knowledge across the life cycle.

Nice To Haves

  • Membership in a related professional nursing organization.
  • Up to 1 year of clinical nursing experience (critical care experience a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients and families; document per unit/TriHealth standards.
  • Develop and execute individualized plans of care based on assessment findings, standards, and desired outcomes.
  • Deliver safe, holistic care while maintaining patient dignity, autonomy, and rights in a high‑acuity setting.
  • Recognize emergent situations and take appropriate action to support timely interventions and patient safety.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and adjust plans as needed.
  • Provide patient/family education and document response to care and teaching.
  • Support unit excellence by sharing knowledge, serving as a resource, and contributing to ongoing professional development.
