About The Position

Responsible to Unit Director for overall nursing practice. Includes the responsibility for assessment of childbearing women (adolescence to middle adulthood), neonates, and family needs, the development of a plan of care to meet those needs, implementation of nursing interventions, and evaluation of nursing care based on outcomes for the population served.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited registered nurse program required
  • Current Pennsylvania RN licensure
  • Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years
  • Within one year of the hire/transfer date, completes the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and renews NRP every two years
  • Within one year of the hire/transfer date, meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) renews ACLS every two years
  • Effectively functions as a team member and as a liaison between patient and staff
  • Supports and encourages harmonious communication skills
  • Job requires strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
  • Communicates in highly professional manner at all times
  • Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill people; uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment and a professional attitude when relating with patients, families, and co-workers at all times

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • Previous RN experience preferred
  • Charge qualified preferred
  • Experience in antepartal, neonatal, obstetrical and/or pediatric nursing preferred
