About The Position

Spring Valley Hospital is a member of The Valley Health System, a network of six acute care hospitals that provide care for patients throughout Southern Nevada and nearby communities. Located in southwest Las Vegas, the 364-bed hospital offers emergency care, advanced cardiovascular and neurological surgeries and procedures, surgical services, women's health, comprehensive maternity services, and a level III neonatal intensive care unit. Spring Valley Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission ("TJC") and has achieved TJC Advanced Certifications in Primary Heart Attack, Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke, and Hip and Knee Total Joint Replacement. Spring Valley Hospital has garnered recognition by US News & World Report for its outstanding achievements in several specialty programs, such as Heart Failure, Heart Attack, Kidney Failure, COPD, and Stroke. Additionally, the Advanced Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center is a distinguished Center of Excellence and President's Circle award winning clinic, providing the highest quality in care and patient satisfaction. The hospital received the prestigious “Best Place to Have a Baby Gold Award,” highlighting its exceptional maternity services, which includes a dedicated entrance open 24/7 to the Birthplace Center. ER at Blue Diamond, an Extension of Spring Valley Medical Center, is a freestanding emergency department providing 24/7 emergency care to infants, children and adults. ER at Blue Diamond has achieved TJC Advanced Certifications in Acute Stroke Ready and Acute Heart Attack Ready.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Current RN license in the State of Nevada.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Current PALS Certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP Certification (Neonatal patients) as required by department.
  • One year full time or three years part time experience in acute care setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Other certification as may be required by facility, specialty or department.

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
  • Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team.
  • Oversees and guides employees that are under his/her supervision.
