About The Position

Where You’ll Work Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital is a 26-bed facility serving the community since 1951 with a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. For more than 60 years, Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital has provided access to health care close to home for the families of Ulysses, Kansas and surrounding communities. Services include Case Management, CT Scan, Diabetic education, dietary consult, EEG/EKG, emergency care, laboratory, MRI, mammography, nuclear medicine, obstetrics (prenatal, postpartum, delivery), midwifery, primary and specialty clinics, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory therapy, surgery, swing beds and ultrasound. Job Summary and Responsibilities Based on your location you may also be eligible for an additional relocation bonus up to $8,000! The Medical Unit at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital is a 26-bed unit with an average census of eight to ten patients and one swing bed department incorporated to med/surg that is skilled nursing. The department covers general medical, surgery, all post-op, generalized pneumonia, flu, wound care (on skilled nursing side) and physical therapy. The clinical nursing program is new and offers a different/slower pace of training where a new nurse can acclimate and have time to learn our department better. We seek candidates that are flexible and willing to cross train to accommodate labor and delivery if needed. As a Nurse you will assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. You will promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
  • One year RN experience
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
