We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham. • Seeking an experienced RN for this 26 bed adult population general medicine inpatient unit White 8 • The patients on this unit represent a diverse adult population with a wide range of complex medical problems including cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, neurological, psychosocial and infectious disease. • The nursing skills developed on this unit are endless; physical and psychosocial assessment, telemetry, complex dressing changes, peritoneal dialysis,etc. Collaboration with other health care professionals across disciplines is fundamental to nursing practice on White 8. Responsibilities include assuring competent, compassionate nursing care for specific patients and families. • The RN will collaborate with the Nurse Director and Clinical Nurse Specialist and other members of the Patient Care Team to achieve optimal Patient outcomes. The Clinical Nurse Specialist role is unit based and that unique as compared to many other hospitals. Requirements

  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • 1-2+ years of experience
  • Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required
  • Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment.
  • Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
  • Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients.
