About The Position

The Dell Medical School is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical Specialties. The Outpatient Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to patients in an outpatient setting, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction. Reporting to the Clinic Supervisor, the RN collaborates closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and administrative staff.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
  • 3 years of relevant experience in an outpatient or clinical setting.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts initial patient assessments and obtains medical histories.
  • Develops and implements individualized care plans.
  • Monitors patient progress and adjusts care plans as needed.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Ensures proper dosage and compliance with treatment regimens.
  • Monitors patients for adverse reactions and reports findings.
  • Educates patients and their families about medical conditions and treatment options.
  • Provides guidance on self-care techniques and preventive health measures.
  • Conducts follow-up education sessions as needed.
  • Performs minor medical procedures such as wound care and suture removal.
  • Assists physicians with diagnostic tests and minor surgeries.
  • Prepares and maintains sterile environments for procedures.
  • Documents patient care in electronic health records (EHR).
  • Coordinates with healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Manages patient appointments and follow-up care.
  • Conducts periodic inventory checks and restocks supplies.
  • Provides medical advice and guidance to patients over the phone.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
