About The Position

The Registered Nurse in the Medical ICU at Boston Children's Hospital is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with critical medical conditions. This role emphasizes family-centered care and collaboration within a team environment, offering opportunities for professional growth and learning. The position requires working day and overnight rotations, including every third weekend, to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• A minimum of 1 year pediatric experience, ICU preferred. Adult ICU or equivalent experience with mechanically ventilated patients strongly considered.
• Pediatric experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Caring for patients with respiratory insufficiency and/or failure, diabetic ketoacidosis, asthma, heart failure, sepsis, metabolic crisis, and those experiencing medically fragile/technology dependent co-morbidities.
• Providing care to medical patients with life-threatening and/or potentially life-threatening conditions across the age continuum.
• Working in a collaborative environment with opportunities for both learning and career growth.
• Practicing family-centered care in an ICU environment.
• Working day and overnight rotations, including every third weekend.
