About The Position

The Registered Nurse position in the Medical/Telemetry Unit at Sierra Medical Center is a per diem role focused on providing safe and compassionate care to patients during night shifts. The nurse will be responsible for implementing patient-centered care, coordinating interdisciplinary plans, and ensuring effective communication among care providers. This role emphasizes the importance of empathy, teamwork, and service excellence in delivering high-quality healthcare.

Requirements

• Current NV nursing license
• Current BLS certificate
• ACLS certificate
• One year full time or three years part time experience in an acute care setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
• Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill.
• Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients.
• Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
• Completes hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs.
• Collaborates with the patient's designated care partner to meet the educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs of the patient.
• Follows communication practices that minimize risks associated with handoffs among providers.
