Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
About The Position
Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a permanent opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri. This Medical Surgical Registered Nurse role provides compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurologic conditions. The unit supports general, urology, and vascular post-surgical patients in a higher-acuity Med/Surg environment within a Level I Trauma setting caring for stable patients. Registered Nurses in this role have the opportunity to expand their clinical skillset, including patient monitoring, while working with sicker-than-average Med/Surg patients in a collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on excellence in care delivery.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of Acute Care RN experience required (does not need to be recent).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or BSN.
- Active RN license in the state of practice or valid multistate compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments following standards of care and disease-specific protocols
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans to optimize outcomes
- Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed staff within RN scope of practice
- Deliver patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances
- Provide emotional support and integrate patient and family teaching into all aspects of care
