Registered Nurse – Med/Surg
About The Position
Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a permanent opportunity in Kansas City, Missouri. The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse provides high-quality, patient-centered care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, cardiac, and neurologic conditions. This unit supports general, urology, and vascular post-surgical patients in a Level I Trauma facility caring for stable but higher-acuity Med/Surg patients. The role offers strong clinical exposure and opportunities to expand skills, including patient monitoring, while working in a collaborative and supportive environment. The Med/Surg RN performs comprehensive nursing assessments, develops and implements individualized care plans, and delivers direct patient care while supervising non-licensed staff within scope of practice. This position requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to compassionate, evidence-based care.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of Acute Care RN experience required (does not need to be recent).
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or BSN.
- Active RN license in the state of practice or valid multistate compact license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments following standards of care and disease-specific protocols
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and resource utilization
- Provide direct nursing care and supervise non-licensed nursing staff in accordance with policy
- Educate patients and families using age-appropriate, culturally sensitive approaches
- Provide emotional support and integrate patient and family teaching into daily care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity and quality of care
