About The Position

St. Anthony North Hospital has provided optimal health care to the communities of Westminster, Erie, Brighton, Broomfield, Northglenn, and Thornton for over 50 years. The campus features 60,000 square feet of integrated primary and specialty care physician clinics, an ambulatory surgery center, a birthing center with private suites, a Level III Trauma Center with 24/7 emergency services, over 150 inpatient beds, and an outpatient diagnostics center with lab and imaging services. In 2023, the hospital received its Magnet designation, an achievement awarded to less than 6 percent of hospitals in the United States, highlighting the excellence of its nursing staff. The hospital emphasizes preventive health, wellness, and health education, offering inpatient and outpatient care at one site, built on convenience, wellness, and person-centered care. The 5 West Medical Surgical Department is a dynamic 30-bed unit caring for a diverse patient population including medical-surgical, cardiac, and neurological patients. Common diagnoses include chronic disease exacerbations (diabetes, heart failure, COPD), acute conditions (infections, gastrointestinal disorders), and pre- and post-operative care for orthopedic, abdominal, and general surgeries. The unit welcomes nurses interested in broadening their skillset, as it receives overflow from across the hospital. Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing preferred for experienced RNs
  • One year experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
