About The Position

The Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry position at Harlingen Medical Center involves providing safe and effective patient care in a Medical/Surgical Unit. Requirements

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
• Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Ventilator Management experience preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintain standards of care within the Medical/Surgical Unit.
• Communicate with physicians about changes in the patient's clinical condition, including cardiac monitoring and diagnostic study results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition and/or response to treatment.
