About The Position

This is a 12-hour day shift position on a 51-bed Acute Med-Surg with Telemetry unit at a 122-bed Level III trauma facility. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. No call is required, but holiday coverage is expected. Floating to like units may occur, though it is infrequent. Patient ratios are typically 3–5 on days and 4–6 on nights. LNAs are assigned at a 1:8–10 ratio. A unit secretary is available from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM most days, and a charge nurse is present 24/7 without a patient assignment. Orientation includes 1–2 precepted shifts in addition to educator-led onboarding prior to patient contact. Scheduling is completed through an online self-scheduling system, with schedules published in advance. The unit provides care for adult patients with a wide range of acute medical needs excluding ICU, psych, and Women & Children’s services. The environment is team-oriented, with RNs, LPNs, and LNAs working collaboratively to provide seamless patient care. Reliable transportation is strongly recommended, as public transportation is not accessible in the area. Free onsite parking is available.

Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with at least 1 year in Med-Surg with Telemetry.
AHA BLS and AHA ACLS are required, along with NIHSS prior to start.
Candidates must have either 5 years of Med-Surg Tele experience or 3 years of dedicated telemetry experience.
Prior travel experience is required.
Travelers must have completed two travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities or have previous experience at a UVMHN acute care facility.
EPIC experience within the past two years is required and nonnegotiable.
A valid license must be on file at time of submission.
All employment gaps greater than 90 days must be explained, and complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type must be provided at submission.
