About The Position

Registered Nurse (RN) Maternal Newborn – Full time Bring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + Together · Work location\: Texas Health Ft. Worth, 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, TX 76104 · The Women’s Center at Texas Health Ft. Worth, a MAGNET , and Texas 10-Step facility, has been named “Best Place to Have a Baby” and Maternal Level IV designated facility · Work hours\: Full Time Nights (6\:45PM-7\:15AM) for 36 hours/week, with Weekend and holiday requirements Maternal/Newborn, Couplet Care Department highlights: · Self-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growth · Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team · 27-bed Maternal/Newborn unit · Average between 275 to 300 deliveries per month · Utilize the following skills\: Breastfeeding education/resources, responsible for both mom and baby (Couplet Care)

Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program OR Nursing Diploma required
  • RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire Required
  • One-year experience as a Registered nurse (RN), or completion of an RN residency program required.
  • BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 90 days is required
  • CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training Maintained Annually 90 Days Required
  • Demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN is preferred
  • One year or more of Mother/Baby, Couplet Care RN experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
