About The Position
Baystate Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager / Department Manager to lead patient care operations across Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, and Intermediate Care (IMC) units. This leadership role oversees nursing staff and daily clinical and operational functions while partnering with physicians and nursing leadership to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The Nurse Manager ensures compliance with regulatory standards and evidence-based practice while fostering staff engagement, development, and performance. Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Massachusetts required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for nursing staff across MedSurg, Telemetry, and IMC units
- Manage clinical, operational, and administrative functions of assigned departments
- Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance
- Lead performance improvement, quality, and patient safety initiatives
- Support staff orientation, education, competency assessment, and professional development
- Partner with physicians, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Manage staffing, scheduling, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management
- Oversee departmental metrics including quality, utilization, productivity, and budgeting
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and safety standards
