Registered Nurse Manager 12-This position is charged with the responsibility for the nursing care given to patients on the assigned unit for the eight hour shift. This responsibility encompasses the supervisory and clinical functioning of the unit and the performance of the subordinate nursing staff. The purpose is to ensure optimal nursing care, a therapeutic and safe environment, and a program of treatment to meet the individual patient's needs. Registered Nurse Manager (recruit) 12-In a training capacity, functions as RN Shift Supervisor providing nursing care and monitoring - nursing care delivery for patients with physical and psychological conditions. Supervises, assigns and evaluates staff. Trains staff, patients, and their families. Monitors for safe, sanitary and humane environment. Support through positive behavior and attitude, the Affirmative Action Plan, the Mission, Vision and values of Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital and the Department of Health and Human Services.

Requirements

  • Possession of a diploma, associate's, bachelor's, or master's degree in nursing accepted for licensure by the Michigan Board of Nursing.
  • Possession of a Michigan license in good standing as a registered nurse.
  • One year of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 for Registered Nurse Manager 12.
  • Nurses with less than 1 year experience will be considered for a RN Manager Recruit position.
  • Possession of a master's degree in nursing or a bachelor's degree in nursing and six months of experience equivalent to a Registered Nurse P11 may be substituted for the experience requirement for the Registered Nurse Manager 12 position.
