About The Position

Malta Med Emergent Care seeks to provide accessible, comprehensive, compassionate, quality care to the community. We are responsible for evaluation, treatment and stabilization of patients who present requesting care for a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries across all age groups. To serve our community, Malta Med Emergent Care is open 24/7, 365 days per year with a 24-bed unit with cardiac monitoring capabilities. To support the Emergent Care and Outpatient Services, we also have a full-service Laboratory and advanced Medical Imaging Department that includes x-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Minimum three years' experience in Emergency Nursing.
• BLS required.
• ACLS and PALS required within one year of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates with AAS in Nursing who will complete BSN within four years of date of hire will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills that are age specific in all interactions and delivery of nursing care.
• Assesses patients' physical/psycho-social status and analyzes relevant data.
• Integrates assessment results in care planning, goals and outcomes.
• Provides for therapeutic interventions based on the continued assessment, prescribed orders and input from other care providers.
• Provides for adequate pain management, manages IV therapy and administers medications according to critical elements.
• Communicates with patients, colleagues, providers, and management in an accurate, considerate, and timely manner.
• Employs critical thinking skills to achieve outcomes and solve problems.
• Engages in caring relationships that integrate the influence of the human experience of health, illness, and/or healing.
• Manages own work and material resources effectively.
• Applies leadership skills consistent with role and experience.
• Incorporates teaching in delivery of care to promote health and prevent disease.
