Requirements

  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • BLS required before patient contact.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas.
  • Unit specific certifications may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Specialty certification and minimum BSN education for staff on this unit are highly encouraged.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and concisely document the nursing process in the patient's electronic medical record.
  • Ensure timely documentation of care, updates, education, and the patient's and family's responses.
  • Adhere to all organizational and department policies.
  • Complete required training and meet all educational requirements.
  • Provide legendary patient care as known by The Christ Hospital Health Network.
  • Deliver comprehensive care by assessing the patient's physical, emotional, spiritual, and educational needs.
  • Create personalized care plans that prioritize patient needs and goals.
  • Provide evidence-based, best-in-class care by educating patients and families.
  • Monitor and adjust care based on patient outcomes and evidence-based practices.
  • Take an active role in driving improvement and achieving better outcomes through the development and evaluation of Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills by motivating, educating, delegating, and mentoring peers and team members.
