Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurs FT 11PM-7AM
About The Position
This position involves providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. The role requires adherence to state and federal standards. Key responsibilities include managing admissions and discharges, reviewing patient caseloads, completing order entry and daily skilled documentation, notifying medical professionals of issues, reviewing labs and x-rays, conducting skin and Braden inspections, providing emergency support, documenting incidents and accidents, managing pharmacy deliveries, and attending required meetings. The role also involves assisting with staffing management on weekends, monitoring compliance, and utilizing charting systems like EMAR/ETAR and Smart Charting.
Requirements
- Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse
- Must be CPR Certified
Nice To Haves
- One year of long-term care desirable
- Med-Surg, Home Health experience helpful
- Experience working with the elderly, handicapped or developmentally disabled adults preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage all admissions and discharges that occur on the day shift
- Meet with each Med nurse to review day case load and special responsibilities
- Review all new admissions from previous day to ensure admission check list is completed
- Complete order entry
- Complete or verify completion of daily skilled documentation for all Med A residents that were assigned for day team
- Notify MD/NP with issues as appropriate
- Review labs and x-rays and ensure all have been addressed
- Complete all skin inspections and Braden inspections according to schedule
- Assist nurses in printing emergency records, calling for transport completing SBAR
- Support other nurses in utilizing med dispense when necessary
- Complete documentation for all Incidents including witness statements
- Initial incident documentation
- Progress not describing care provided
- Update care plan with new prevention intervention suggestion
- Manage Pharmacy deliveries and troubleshoot any problems with medication availability or order
- Attend meetings as required
- Other Duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing
- Assist Staffing with managing evening shift call offs
- Verify that all day staff arrive, and they are aware of their assignments
- Review upcoming evening shift staffing and manage any problems using the staffing book
- Monitor AHT compliance EMAR/ETAR documentation
