About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position at The Christ Hospital Health Network focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care in an inpatient surgical setting. Requirements

  • Current licensure to practice nursing in Ohio.
  • BLS certification required prior to patient contact.
  • Ability to provide age and culturally specific patient care and education.
  • Effective communication skills with peers and healthcare team members.
  • Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional growth and competence.

Nice To Haves

  • Membership in professional organizations is desirable.
  • ACLS certification required within 6 months of hire in step-down and ICU areas.
  • Certification in area of clinical specialty expected within five years of eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct holistic assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and educational needs.
  • Recognize and report abnormal data and changes in patients' conditions to physicians and charge RNs.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to communicate pertinent patient data using appropriate handoff methods.
  • Establish and prioritize individualized patient problems and needs based on collected data.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and revise multidisciplinary plans of care in collaboration with patients and families.
  • Communicate the plan of care using SBAR and handoff processes with all team members.
  • Initiate discharge planning upon admission and make appropriate referrals.
  • Perform and delegate nursing actions based on physician orders and demonstrate accountability for implementation.
  • Provide ongoing, individualized patient and family education based on needs and the plan of care.
  • Respond to emergency situations with precision and skill.
  • Implement measures to prevent contamination and maintain a safe environment.
  • Continuously evaluate nursing practice related to the plan of care and adjust based on patient responses.
  • Document nursing processes accurately and concisely in the electronic medical record.
