About The Position

As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit. The Emergency Department (ED) at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital sees over 25,000 patients annually, offering a fast-paced setting where every day brings new opportunities to save lives and provide compassionate, expert care. Our ED team specializes in a wide range of emergency care services, including: Critical Care & Trauma Stroke Management (Stroke-Designated Facility) Cardiac Emergencies General Medical and Surgical Emergencies As a member of our team, you'll work alongside a highly skilled, collaborative group of nurses, physicians, and emergency care professionals who are committed to clinical excellence and patient-centered care. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • BS: Nursing (Required)
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Responsibilities

  • Assessment. Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family
  • Planning & Implementation. Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family
  • Evaluation & Education. Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities
  • Training. Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters
