About The Position

As a Registered Nurse Level IV, you will leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to fellow team members, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care on the unit. The Emergency Department (ED) at Rochester General Hospital serves over 125,000 patients annually, providing comprehensive care in a high-intensity, fast-paced setting. We provide immediate, high-quality care to patients with a wide range of needs. The department specializes in critical care, trauma, stroke, cardiac, and general medicine, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive, life-saving treatment in their most critical moments. This role is part of the Registered Nurse Level IV / Clinical Nurse IV must complete the following: Complete the Clinical Ladder binder within 12 months of employment Minimum of 5 activities in each Pillar (Leadership, Quality, and Organizational Contribution) 15 Continuing education units (CEU's) 20 Flex items.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform initial and ongoing assessment of the patient; demonstrate exceptional clinical judgment and advanced assessment skills; communicate and document assessment with interdisciplinary team; utilize all available resources in order to meet the needs of the patient and family.
  • Develop and document plan of care, treatment and services; collaborate interdisciplinary health team to deliver care; maintains an appropriate nurse-patient relationship and provides an exceptional experience for the patient and family.
  • Evaluate, communicate and document patient responses to care; revise plan of care based on ongoing evaluations; ensure the patient receives and understands education/training specific to their needs and abilities.
  • Provide training for new team members on the unit; assume role of teacher for nursing students and other students shadowing on the unit; act as a resource for other team members for both clinical and non-clinical matters.
